Eric, Customer Advisor
When the pandemic struck in 2020 Eric temporarily lost his employment and had to find a new job waiting for business to pick up again. After a couple of interviews, he ended up in a role as a Customer Advisor in Fortum Consumer Solutions. What was supposed to be a temporary gig very soon turned out to be something else as Eric felt at home from day one. Now, he looks forward to continue to develop and grow within the Fortum Consumer Solutions.





Working for Fortum Consumer Solutions is really something extra
Before starting to work for Fortum Consumer Solutions Eric had little knowledge about the company and was not sure what to expect. Thinking back Eric says that he has enjoyed the atmosphere in all his previous jobs but working for Fortum Consumer Solutions was really something else in a positive way.
"Fortum Consumer Solutions is a level up from all other places where I have been working. People are really nice, the atmosphere is fun and there is a nice mix of younger and older colleagues. We also hang out a lot outside of work. Just the other day, I had five colleagues visiting my apartment to watch a football game together. You really become friends with people here. It is great."

What does a Customer Advisor do?
Eric is often on the phone with clients but also participates in other projects. There is always something new to learn and plenty of development opportunities available if you do a good job. Managers and co-workers are supportive and the atmosphere in the workplace is what really stands out, according to Eric.
Customers are contacting him with a lot of different questions. Often, they want help to sign up for a new contract, change their contract or discuss value added services offered to our customers. There are plenty of colleagues in similar roles. Some use the phone/email while others specialize helping clients via chat or social media.
"Together with a colleague we have been reviewing customer feedback to understand how we can improve. I am proud to be part of such projects as it really feels that you are making a difference improving the service we provide to our customers."

What type of person would like to work as Customer Advisor?
To succeed as a Customer Advisor Eric mentions that it is good if you like to talk with people on the phone. It also helps if you are social and of course you must like to provide a good service and help customers in the best possible way.
So, what about the future?
"What was supposed to be a temporary job is now the perfect place for me. I look forward to continuing develop in my role and there are for sure opportunities for me to grow and learn here. I am very happy to be where I am right now, says Eric."
